Kidsgrove
Many of the local children plead with their parents to bring them to Kidsgrove; a local playground designed by the children of Selinsgrove for the community. It began with an idea by resident Dick Norman, who always dreamed of having a place for his local community and the children. Kidsgrove includes a mini-town (mirroring downtown Selinsgrove), large pavilion for picnicking and events, and expansive playground. Many events are held at Kidsgrove, including a Fall Festival and summer Movies in the Park. Lore Degenstein Gallery
Located on the campus of Susquehanna University, the Lore Degenstein Gallery showcases artwork from both professional and student artists in five exhibitions a year. Although closed when school is not in session, all events are free and open to the public. The gallery adds a new dimension of culture to the Selinsgrove community. Selinsgrove Hometown Harvest Farmers Market
From mid-May through October, Selinsgrove holds their Hometown Harvest Farmers Market. Every Saturday, from 9am to 1pm, local farmers come to downtown Selinsgrove to sell their fresh food. Items include organic and sustainable produce, pasteurized and free-range chicken, cheese, herbs, flowers, and some jewelry and crafts. The market is centrally located near the other shops and restaurants in Selinsgrove, making it the perfect way to start your Saturday. Selinsgrove Speedway
For those looking for some different and fast-paced entertainment, the Selinsgrove Speedway may be just the place you’re looking for. Every Saturday night from March through September, races and events take place at the speedway, conveniently located right off of Route. 11/15. Drivers from all over the region take part in the races, which draw spectators from across the Susquehanna Valley. Simon Snyder Mansion and Monument
For many history buffs and other interested parties, the home and monument of Simon Snyder is a huge draw to Selinsgrove. Simon Snyder was Governor of Pennsylvania for three consecutive terms, and played a key roll in politically shaping this state. His home, located on Market Street in downtown Selinsgrove, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1885, a monument was given to Selinsgrove to be placed over his grave.
