Joseph Priestley House
One of the area’s most famous residents was British theologian, author, and scientist, Joseph Priestley. He is known mostly for his discovery of carbon monoxide and early experiments with electricity. Many of his views were considered controversial; so much so that opposition leaders burned his home in England. He decided to leave his homeland with his family and settle in America. For the last ten years of his life, Priestley spent his time in a spacious home in Northumberland, working on his contributions to science, religion, and education. This home has been placed on both the National Historic Landmark and National Historic Chemical Landmark lists; making the Priestly House a great historical monument in the Northumberland community. Keithan's Bluebird Gardens

Shikellamy State Park
Peace and quiet await you at the Shikellamy State Park. Located in both Union and Northumberland counties, this expansive state park overlooks the remarkable Susquehanna River. Located right between Northumberland and Sunbury, you’ll find the Shikellamy Marina; at the point where the West Branch and North Branch of the river meet. Sunny Hill Golf Course
The scenic 9-hole Sunny Hill Golf Course facility in Sunbury, Pennsylvania features 1,099 yards of golf with two par fours. Designed by Terry Sprenkle, the Sunny Hill golf course is situated in picturesque Sunbury and is surrounded by woods and cornfields. The facility opened in 1957 and has been serving area golfers ever since!
